This is a very strong area of our practice. We provide assistance in this area to most of the operator in the eastern area of the country. As a reference we will mention some activities where we have participated:

We undertook Physical and Juridical Cadastre studies in the San Carlos Area, Cojedes and Portuguesa States , with a study area of 1771 Km2.

We have worked in the Permit Process, appraisal by appropriation, follow-up, administration, documentation and supervision of the 2D Seismic Project of the San Carlos Area, Cojedes and Portuguesa States , year 1997-98.

Providing and administration of supervising personnel and property analysts for the Caracas-Charallave-Altagracia Gas Pipeline Project, years 1996-97.

We provided Technical and Legal advise for the Laying of the High Voltage Electric Line Project of La Horqueta to San Juan de los Morros, Cabudare, Lara to Punto Fijo, year 1998.

We also provided legal and technical advise in the operation of the Oritupano-Leona fields, which included specialized personnel, 1998-1999.

We undertook Physical and Juridical Cadastre studies in the Kaki and Maulpa Areas, Anzoátegui State , Years 1998-1999-2000. Responsible for the administration of property analysis personnel for the Juridical and Technical Consulting Office in the operation of the Oritupano-Leona, Mata and Acema fields.

We provided advise for Technical-Juridical Appraisals due to property appropriation for activities undertaken in the Kaki and Maulpa Areas, Anzoátegui State .

We actively participate in the constitution of hydrocarbon easements, convened and judicial, for different operating companies in several areas of the country.

We participate in the procedures and execution of expropriation decrees for the occupation of lands to be used for oil activities.

Our firm has a multidisciplinary support team for undertaking plane surveys (with precision GPS equipment), physical and juridical cadastres, preparation of appraisals, among other activities.

Environmental Law

General Contract Law

Within the activities we perform for our clients we assist them in the negotiation and drafting of contract of different nature, such as service and work contracts, lease contracts, drilling, compression, seismic, and in general most of the contracts required for the regular activities of oil and gas companies. In some cases we also participate as members of the bidding committees of our clients. Also while working in PDVSA and its affiliates, our attorneys actively participated as members of bidding committees in such companies.

At this respect we handle on a continuous basis Operating Agreements for the First, Second and Third Round. Also because of the nature of the services provided to our clients, we have the knowledge about the conditions and terms of the different association agreements executed by PDVSA´s affiliates and the process of negotiation in many cases (including Extra heavy oil, and Exploration at Risk and Exploitation under the Shared Profit Scheme). Finally, we also have knowledge on the last association agreement executed by PDVSA under the current government related to the development of Orimulsion.
